As we discussed in earlier post about Mobile Operating Systems  Part 1 of 2 , we mentioned only top 5, and now in this post the other 5 will cover.


Like other Mobile Operating Systems, Samsung also owns the operating system, which is known as BADA . It is designed for mid-range and high-end smartphones.  Bada is quiet convenient and efficient operating system, as well as Android, but unfortunately, Samsung Bada is not used on a large scale, for unknown reasons.

The latest version of Bada 2.0.5 was released on March 15  th  2012.  there are only 3 phones that run on Bada.  these three smartphones Samsung Wave, Samsung Wave 2 and Samsung Wave 3.  I believe that Bada would do better, If Samsung were to promote it properly.

Palm OS

(Garnet OS) Palm OS Palm Inc was developed in 1996 specifically for handheld computers (Personal Digital aid).  Palm OS was primarily designed to work on the touch interface.  Several years later, he was promoted and was able to support smartphones.  Unfortunately, he could not to make a mark in the market, and is currently not used in any of the last top devices.Mobile Operating Systems

It was five and a half years, we have seen the last update to the Palm OS in 2007. Palm OS has been used by many companies, including Lenovo, Legend Group, Janam, Kyocera and IBM. Palm OS also big competitor for other mobile operating systems manufacturers.

Open WebOS

Open WebOS also known as WebOS HP or simply WebOS which was largely designed Palm Inc but after a few years it became the property of Hewlett Packard.  WebOS was launched in 2009 and has been used in a number of smartphones and tablets. HP WebOS contributed to a very high level, using it in high-end smartphones and tablets.latter device working on a WebOS Pad HP Touch.  With the Android market for a tablet based on WebOS HP got very less.Mobile Operating Systems

Finally, HP announced the cease-based devices WebOS, but existing users are assured that they will receive regular updates of the operating system. HP also listed in Mobile Operating Systems list with WebOS.


Nokia and Maemo Community have joined hands to produce an operating system for smartphones and Internet tablets, known as Maemo.  Like other devices Maemo UI also has a menu from which the user can go to any place. As Android now home screen is divided into several sections that show Internet Search bar, the different tags, RSS Feed, and other such things.  Later, in 2010, the MWC (Mobile World Congress) has revealed that the current project will be Maemo combined with Mobilin create a new operating system known as MeeGo.

MeeGo was basically called a mobile platform, but it was actually designed for many electronic devices, including PDAs, in-car devices, televisions and netbooks.  All of the devices on which MeeGo can run at the same nucleus, but the user interface is fully differs depending on the device.

In 2010 Moorestown Tablet PC is on a Computex Taipei exhibition Which was also the MeeGo powered device.Most of you have heard the name of the Nokia N9, but you will not know that this is a great device sales running on MeeGo.


These ten are not only mobile operating systems out there, there are tons more, and we’ll see one in Firefox mobile OS In the future.  Firefox, which once dominated the market internet browser, is in the process of creating their own web-OS for mobile phones, so that in the future, the market for mobile operating systems can get even more competitive.

At the moment, Android is the clear winner, but if you look at the profit and expansion, Apple has become the largest Tech Google and leaves for his father to eat dust.
